Title
Kinetics Of Zeolite Naa Crystallization In Microgravity
Keywords
Heterogeneous nucleation; Population balance; Secondary nucleation
Abstract
The paper describes a population balance-based study of zeolite NaA crystallization from solution for well-mixed batch operations both on ground and in low earth orbit. The model is based on heterogeneous and secondary nucleation and a size-dependent power law crystal growth mechanism. The predicted final particle size distribution is compared with the available experimental data. © 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
