Experimental Observation Of Discrete Modulational Instability
Abstract
The discrete modulation instability of optical nonlinear array was discussed. The wave dynamics of electric field amplitude obeyed the Schrödinger equation.The input and output power was monitored separately on Germanium detectors. The imperfections in the sample and the inherent noise were used to seed the MI. The stable beams were demonstrated in the negative diffraction regions while MI and self-localization were demonstrated in the positive.
