Ld-Pumped Yb:Lu2O3 Thin-Disk Laser At 1034 Nm And Second-Harmonic Generation

Abstract
We report the LD-pumped continuous-wave (CW) thin-disk Yb3+-doped Lu2O3 laser at 1034 nm. The maximum output power is 1.17 W with a 7.8% output coupler and under a pump power of 18.6 W. Moreover, intracavity second-harmonic generation (SHG) has also been achieved with a power of 192 mW at 517 nm by using a LiB3O5 (LBO) nonlinear crystal. The M2 factors are about 1.14 and 1.28 in X and Y directions respectively. The fluctuation of the output power is about 2.7% in 4 h.
