In this paper we describe the role of task concept in the study of human work and HCI interaction in particular. The nature of the changes undergone by the object depends on both human activity and the specifics of technological components of work. Hence task analysis may be studied from either the technological viewpoint or from human activity perspectives. In this paper we consider task concept from activity theory viewpoint..
