Non Invasive Monitoring Of Blood Glucose Using Saliva As A Diagnostic Fluid

Abstract
Recently, saliva has been investigated as a possible diagnostic tool for glucose estimation. This paper presents a novel noninvasive method for the use of saliva for monitoring blood glucose. The present study tries to estimate the change in dielectric permittivity of saliva with blood glucose. A microwave biosensor was used at the microwave frequency to measure the shift in resonant frequency of the resonator. The change in the resonant frequency of the resonator is related to the change in the saliva permittivity and hence to amount of glucose variation in blood.
