This strategy utilizes demonstrations and simulations in an online environment to improve student engagement. It first explains the literature behind demonstrations/simulations and then provides the reader with a plan to implement and examples to reference.

About the Author

Michael McKenzie is a lecturer and Instructional Technology Specialist at Coastal Carolina University. He has experience in the classroom as a science teacher, STEM teacher, and virtual teacher. He also served in leadership roles for instructional technology, assessment preparation, chemical safety, and as various school leads. He has used this experience to deliver professional development focusing on classroom technology. Michael's passion lies in fostering an engaging learning environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and real-world skills. His current research interests include VR, AI, and innovative instructional technology.

Amy McKenzie is an adjunct instructor for Instructional Technology courses at Coastal Carolina University. She is also a teacher and course designer for Low Country Virtual. She is responsible for curriculum building and course design for online learning. Amy has taught professional development sessions focusing on technology, student engagement, podcasting, and curriculum. Amy strives to engage fellow educators in meaningful professional development that allows them to make their instruction more efficient and beneficial.
