Strategy Description
The instructor can use course announcements posted at the beginning of each week to connect weekly topics and concepts to new topics and concepts modeling the cognitive process of connecting prior knowledge to new information. Research into teacher presence shows that students value the clarity of the information presented in a course and explicitly communicating the connection can be a powerful course announcement.
