U-LEAD Program Options

The U-LEAD programs consist of single-semester courses designed for upper division and transfer students with 60+ credits, a minimum 3.0 cumulative or UCF GPA, and an interest in service and leadership. Each program course is designed to help students explore a different kind of leadership and how it impacts a related community. Within each program there are two course options to allow students to explore leadership from a service focus and a disciplined based research perspective. Although the same courses are not offered every semester, the LEAD Scholars Academy strives to provide various course topics throughout the academic year which allows students the opportunity to explore many aspects of leadership.

Each fall and spring term, students in LDR 3905 conduct a social change research project to highlight what they are learning in their U-LEAD courses. They combine their passion for a specific topic with the social change model to create research that highlights important opportunities to impact change in various communities. There work is then presented to judges and the public in the form of a poster as part of an on-campus showcase. The poster submissions are judged, and the winning students are provided with financial incentives.
