The United States Virgin Islands, which consists of Saint Croix, Saint John, and Saint Thomas, were once under the territorial control of the English and Danish. Government Hill, pictured, is home to many historical houses, government buildings, and museums. Government House, completed by 1867, is a white brick building located at the top of Government Hill and was designed by Otto Marstrand, a local merchant. Slide labeled Charlotte Amalie from 1829 hotel.
