A handwritten note reads "Bleachers an old athletic field which was located on the south side of the area where now are located Cummings Gym, Stover Theater, tennis courts and handball courts. The game may have been baseball or football. Both games were played as early as 1898. Since [the] date was Thanksgiving, it probably was football. Arrow points to Dr. Forbes" In addition to the crowd, a 19th century baby buggy and women's bicycle are visible.
