Sunday, April 2, 2000. Chef Scott Dickinson (on right; other man unidentified) prepared a fabulous meal (based on the SEA theme) for 1,000+ participants, who were served under enormous tents at the groundbreaking festivities for St. Luke's School's new building.

Chicken farming
A black and white image of the chickens and roosters running next to their coop on Bethune-Cookman's campus while five African American women feed them. The women are standing next to the long chicken coop made out of wood. The girls are wearing pants and shorts. Two of the girls are carrying buckets full of feed in their hands. In the background of the image to the left is the back of Cookman Hall. On the back of the photograph is written, "Poultry raising class; chicken farm on campus 1940s, south side of campus." The photographer of the image is unknown.

Chicken farming
A black and white image of the chickens and roosters in their coop on Bethune-Cookman's campus. Part of their coop can be seen at the left of the image. Chicken wire keeps them fenced in. In the background of the image are small sheds as well as tall trees, such as palm trees. On the back of the photograph is written, "Campus chicken farm 1940's." The photographer of the image is unknown.

Chicken yard
A black and white image of the large chicken coop and yard where chickens were fed and raised on Bethune-Cookman University's campus. Very tall trees can be seen in the background behind the chicken coop, including palm trees. A part of the front of Faith Hall can be see through the trees behind the chicken yard. Two tall white structures are on either side of the chicken coop, and a woodbeam structure with chicken wire runs between them. The tall structure at the right of the photograph has an opening where chickens can be seen standing. A variety of chickens are seen walking around in the dirt yard. Seven African American females are seen in long-sleeved white dresses with smocks over them and white hats. One women at the left forefront of the image is carrying a bucket presumably full of seed for the chickens. Another woman is at the right of the image and is standing in the pen. The remaining four women are standing in the shade behind chicken wire. At the center of the image is Mary McLeod Bethune. She is wearing a large, floppy white hat, and light-colored dress which goes to her ankles. She is turned to the side. On the lower left-hand front of the image is the number "39", but the significance of this number is unknown. On the back of the image is written in pen, "A corner of the poultry yard, Daytona N. & I. Institute." The photographer of the image is unknown.
