Description
Mary Rubin interviews Andrew Hackler, a Library Technical Assistant Supervisor at the John C Hitt Library in the Circulation Department, via Zoom about the impact of COVID-19 on their life. Andrew recalls the suddenness of going remote in March 2020 and the difficulties of supervising remotely. On top of that, Andrew’s kids were also home due to the pandemic, and they talk about the struggles of working and being a parent during these times. Andrew also reflects on cancelled summer plans, watching church services online, daycare, and house renovations during 2020. They hope that people stay united while also expressing concern regarding the political climate of the U.S., which was magnified by the effects of the pandemic.
