Construction and application of a micro-raman spectrometer

Abstract

A micro-Raman system is constructed from a surface finish microscope coupled to a Raman spectrometer. This instrument is capable of analysis of low volume samples and provides spatial resolution on the order of microns. Applications to diamond films, carbon fullerenes and biological samples are presented and nearinfrared excitation is explored.
