Publication Ethics Statement

The Journal of Hospitality Financial Management (JHFM) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in all stages of the publication process. Our policies are informed by the principles of the Digital Commons and STARS, and are designed to ensure trust in the scholarly record.

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Submit original works that have not been previously published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere.
  • Properly cite and acknowledge all sources used in the research.
  • Report data accurately, without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate manipulation.
  • Ensure authorship reflects significant contributions to the research, writing, and approval of the final manuscript.
  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of the work.

Responsibilities of Editors

  • Make fair and impartial decisions based solely on scholarly merit, originality, and relevance to hospitality financial management.
  • Ensure a transparent and rigorous peer-review process, free from discrimination or conflicts of interest.
  • Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
  • Act promptly on ethical concerns, including suspected misconduct, plagiarism, or disputes.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Provide constructive, objective, and timely evaluations of submitted manuscripts.
  • Treat manuscripts received for review as confidential documents and refrain from sharing or using them for personal advantage.
  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest and decline review assignments where such conflicts exist.

Ethical Oversight

The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, data falsification, redundant publication, or other forms of research and publication misconduct. Allegations of misconduct will be investigated following COPE guidelines, and appropriate corrective measures will be taken when necessary, including retractions or corrections.
