Description/Abstract
This session presents an adaptable two-stage method of introducing first-year students to the ethos of academic research, motivated by students’ natural desire to understand topics of personal and local significance. Participants will work in groups to generate discipline-appropriate experiential learning assignments and leave the session with a blueprint for successful undergraduate research projects. “Get Involved” is relevant to participants from all disciplines, including student activities professionals.
