Description:
• Program Eligibility: Any individual who has been physically abused, threatened with abuse, is frightened to stay where they are and has no place else to go are eligible for emergency shelter services. We are a non-discriminating shelter. Victims can be of any age.
• To Access the Shelter: Victims may contact the crisis lines at (386) 255-2102 for local areas or via a Statewide Hotline at: 1-800-500-1119. After an initial screening by phone, victims are met in a safe location and transported or they may drive their own car to the shelter.
• Location: The Domestic Abuse Council, Inc. has one emergency shelter in Daytona Beach. Due to the nature of the problems our residents face, the actual location is kept confidential. The shelter is heavily secured and staffed 24 hours per day.
• Length of Stay: Length of shelter stay varies upon the needs of the victim and their shelter goals/plans. Resident stay is typically allowed up to 6 weeks.
Cost: There are no fees for shelter services.
