Mutual Coupling of Skewed Two-element Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna Arrays
Abstract
This thesis considers mutual coupling as a function of skew angle between rectangular microstrip patch antennas configured in a two-element array. A brief explanation of microstrip antennas and their parameters is given. The importance of studying the effect of mutual coupling on antenna performance is discussed. Descriptions of the two design processes used to determine dimensions of the test antennas are included. Reflection and transmission data for four antenna arrays are presented with emphasis on measured mutual coupling between elements for varying skew angles.
