Title
A Dep (Dielectrophoretic) Manipulator For Bead-Based Assay Using Transparent Ito Electrodes
Keywords
Bead manipulation; Dielectrophoresis; Transparent ITO microelectrode
Abstract
In this paper, we designed, fabricated and characterized a transparent micromachined dielectrophoretic device, used for separating or trapping of beads. Desired electrode patterns for generating dielectrophoresis are obtained on an indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass substrate. The advantage of using ITO electrodes is higher optical transparency. Microfluidic channels combined with this optically transparent dielectrophoretic device can prove to be useful in clinical and diagnostic applications. © 2004 IEEE.
