Picture at upper left [was] taken in the interior of the first gymnasium which was built by Mr. Stetson in 1891. C.T. Sampson supplied the equipment. The building originally stood northwest of Stetson Hall. In 1935 it was moved to its present location near the swimming pool and is used as an Intern Center by the Education department."

Stetson University professor of Greek and Latin, Warren Stone Gordis. Dr. Gordis came to Stetson in 1888 and served as Acting President for ten months in 1895-1896. He is considered Stetson's first ""librarian"" after he took some library training and established library standards for Stetson.

Stetson University founding trustee Reverend W. N. Chaudoin. Chaudoin served as a trustee and Secretary of the Florida Baptist Convention and was the first person to receive a Stetson University honorary degree. The first women's dormitory, Chaudoin Hall, was named for him.
