This presentation explores innovative strategies for integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into teacher preparation courses to enhance students' ability to critically evaluate lesson plans. Attendees will learn how AI tools can assist in creating lesson and activity plans while fostering college students' analytical and reflective skills. The session will showcase the format used by the presenter for guiding her online students in creating plans, as well as how to analyze them for appropriateness of key concepts such as cultural and linguistic responsiveness, developmentally appropriate practices, and classroom management. Participants will leave with actionable ideas for implementing AI in teacher preparation programs to support the professional growth and effective teaching practices of their education students.
