Description
The present study considers the benefits and challenges of using generative AI to help students improve archival intelligence - the skills necessary for successful archival research. The activity uses generative AI to remove one of the challenges of developing primary source skills: historical writing. Instead, it allows students to focus on honing and practicing key archival skills like finding, selecting, evaluating, and citing primary sources. The research presented incorporates student work analysis, student feedback, and faculty reflection
