Plan and elevation for pulpit of St. Luke's remodeled church. 1957
A blueprint of the Plan and Elevation of the Pulpit, prepared by Joseph J. Noe Studios, New York, NY resides in St. Luke's Church Archives. In 1956, congregation had engaged noted architect James Gamble Rogers II to design an enlarged sanctuary and office facility, incorporating the first brick church building erected in 1939. Some of the design work for carved furnishings, etc., was outsource to other firms. This plan (scale 1"-1')is substantially the same as the final, "as built" version. Significant in the design of this carved oak pulpit are the three dimensional figures of Christ (center), with St. Peter at His right hand and the Apostle Paul on His left. The style and carvings echo those on the new church altar, created in the same period. So cherished are these fine pieces, that the congregation incorporated them into the chancel design for construction of a still larger sanctuary (dedicated in 1993).

Plat Plan for "Slovak Lutheran Cemetery" 1931
A plat plan for the dedication of two acres of Lot 110, Slavia Colony Co.'s subdivision of Section 19, Township 12 south, range 31 east in Seminole County, FL was filed and recorded in Plat Book 7, page 7, of the public records of Seminole County on August 3, 1931. The Colony and the congregation of St. Luke's had been chartered 20 years earlier, but, ironically, there had been no deaths in the community until this time. Just two years later (1933), the Joseph Mikler family would lose their young son, John (age 12), who would be the first member of the Slavia/St. Luke's communities to be buried in the hallowed ground of the "Slovak Lutheran Cemetery." During that period (and until the first permanent brick church was erected on another piece of property in 1939), the St. Luke's congregation worshiped in a small wood church located on the cemetery grounds.

Program for Dedication of Founders Hall - Sept. 9, 1979
The complete service program for the Dedication of Founders Hall was included in this collection because it contains important information about the history and the participants of this milestone addition to St. Luke's campus in 1979. The new combination gymnasium/auditorium space allowed the church and the school to expand their programs and ministries in new and exciting ways, just as the explosion in the population of the surrounding communities began to have a profound effect on the growth of membership and school enrollment.
