St. Luke's Church Office. 1986
A view of the building used as the church office. 1986. This structure was originally built in 1935 to serve as the parsonage for Pastor Tuhy and his family. It was later remodeled and used by Pastor John Kucharik and his wife (1968-early 1980's), until his retirement. The building never housed a pastor's family again, but was converted to office space when the brick church was again remodeled (1986) and pews for additional seating in worship services replaced the former office space there.

After a 'silent period' in recording congregational activities in print, the ledger resumed in 1924 and continued through 1931. The first full entry page begins with statement (in Slovak) about the formation of the new congregation (The Church of St. Luke the Evangelizer on March 17, in the year of our Lord, 1912 in Slavia, FL.). Eight men were in attendance at this inaugural meeting, which followed Sunday worship in one of the settler's homes: Andrew Duda, Joseph Mikler, George Galla, Paul Lukas, John Benko, George Jakubcin, Steve Johman, and John Scerba. They immediately elected leaders from among themselves: Duda as president. Mikler as treasurer and Galla as secretary. The offering that Sunday totaled $2.05.
