Description

This presentation shares our experience developing a 3-course microcredential in "AI and Writing," at Kansas State University. Our microcredential teaches "evergreen" AI literacy skills needed in personal, academic, and workplace writing, such as critical thinking, ethical awareness, the ability to create and shape effective prompts and output, and iteration. We discuss ways to navigate complex university dynamics around AI and share experiences, through our university outreach, with responding to faculty concerns around pressure points. With attendees, we'll brainstorm additional evergreen AI literacy skills and discuss the creation of curricula that balance technical proficiency with enduring competencies.
