Description

In an era where artificial intelligence is reshaping the healthcare landscape, this nursing classroom innovation explores the challenges and opportunities of incorporating an assignment involving the use of AI to generate patient care plans. Students were asked to use ChatGPT to develop a hypothetical care plan for a complex patient case, and then critically evaluate the advantages and limitations of using AI. In small group seminars, discussion topics included the importance of nursing judgment in patient-centered, evidenceinformed care; ethical considerations of using AI in healthcare; and AI's potential to enhance critical thinking.
