Learning Objectives
-
Develop effective prompting strategies to clarify vocabulary, explore concepts, and build relationships between variables in physics.
-
Construct personalized learning paths by leveraging AI to organize study time, review prerequisites, and adapt to individual needs.
-
Critically evaluate AI outputs, distinguishing between accurate explanations, partial insights, and errors.
-
Apply AI tools to reinforce mathematical foundations, bridging prior math knowledge with new physics applications.
-
Demonstrate resilience in problem-solving by reformulating prompts, engaging in Socratic-style dialogue with AI, and persisting through incomplete answers.
-
Reflect on metacognitive strategies, recognizing their own learning habits and gaps through extra-credit “learning path” assignments.
Strategy Description
Driving Your Own Learning Path is a strategy that guides students to create personalized AI-supported learning. Students initiate and refine their own prompts, progressing from basic questions to deeper conceptual and relational inquiries while using AI as a thinking partner rather than an answer provider. This approach strengthens self-regulation and metacognitive awareness by allowing students to reflect on their learning process and adapt their study strategies in real time.
