Rev. William von Spreckelsen (b.1908-d.1990) Team Ministry member at St. Luke's Lutheran Church
Rev. William von Spreckelsen, after retiring from a varied career in pastoral ministries and as an Executive for the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, was engaged as the "Assistant to the Pastor" (Rev. John Kucharik) at St. Luke's in 1973. He served the congregation until his full retirement in 1981, a period during which he became one member of a full Team Ministry at St. Luke's. Pastor and Mrs.(Ruth)von Spreckelsen became residents of the Lutheran Haven and lived there until Ruth's death in 1987 and Pastor 'Spreck's' in 1990. The couple is buried in St. Luke's Cemetery in Slavia, FL.

A man can be seen standing in the middle of the road next to the car; he is walking as if he is trying to cross the road. The spectators are standing next to multiple-story buildings. The building nearest to the car has second-story windows out of which are leaning spectators. A large palm tree can be seen standing in between the two buildings. Having served as a Presidential appointee on the prestigious National Commission on Excellence in Education (which produced the white paper, "In Search of Excellence"), Wallace also brought valuable experience in revitalizing other Lutheran High Schools in the midwest. He will be remembered for his humility, his extraordinary personal commitment to "saving the school" during a precarious point in its history and his deep love and concern for the students and faculty. The school publication ("Shield") was dedicated to his name twice during his tenure at the school.

Typewritten on the front of the postcard was: Robins Nest, Sanford, Fla., and Maxwell and Rourke, Ice Cream Parlor. The Robin's Nest was named after Aaron Robins, and was located at 402 W. First Street in Sanford. The hotel was first mentioned in the Sanford city directory in 1909 as Robins Nest, and was renamed Empire Hotel in 1917.
